Echinoid
Information
Regular echinoids are found from the Ordovician onwards as epifaunal deposit feeders, with pentaradial symmetry and large spines.
In the Jurassic, irregular echinoids appear. These infaunal deposit feeders use small spines for movement rather than protection and acquire bilateral symmetry.
